Miles Aldridge

Miles Aldridge is, I must say, the most amazing photographer I have ever seen. His work uses strange lighting that lends it a surreal, almost creepy air. He puts his subjects in strange positions with strange backgrounds. His website is even stranger- to get to the website without sitting through a very long slide show of his portfolio, you have to click on the picture showing (which will put it in full screen mode), then press the Escape key, then click on the picture again. There is an eerie tune playing in the background as you mull over his disturbingly beautiful photographs. How many times have I said strange in the last paragraph?
Well, anyways his work is most likely an acquired taste. And I do like strange things, but others may not. You will either love it or hate it-but at least check it out. If you like it, you will be hooked for life.

Darkness came over my soul. Slowly but surely He transformed me into a beast, the likes of which neither He nor I had ever seen. Certainly, of my many personalities at least one was an extraordinary actress. For how else to explain my apparent normality in front of others with whom I do not have an intimate relationship of some sort? But my alter egos are nameless apart from these classifications.
The Dark One - murder and torture rein supreme in her sadistic mind, plotting endlessly, her subconcious a twisting mass of revenge and evil cunning.
The Sweet One - she who appears, smiling, kind, at rare moments, perpetually polite and, for all intents and purposes, normal.
The Crazed One - ah, she is a fun one. She babbles of odd and random things, running about, shrieking and wreaking havoc for no obvious reason other than her own amusement. And, of course, this is not a complete list. But one cannot be left out.

The Succubus.
She is a direct result of Him. My transformer. She lusts for blood and thrives on pure carnal energy. She can seduce whomever she sets her sight on and drain the life right out of them. She is an incredible creature, yet she is only a small part of me. But I can feel her growing. Dominating. And it is only a matter of time before we are one and the same.

MCR Military Jacket

I would KILL to have this jacket. During the Black Parade tour each member of MCR wore a different marching-band-style jacket. They are all gorgeous but Gerard's is the most classic style and, of course, the most easily recognized. Every replica I have found is expensive, costumey-looking, and close but no cigar when it comes to accuracy of design. I want to make my own so I'm posting several different angles on the jacket to make a sketch of the design later.

Reasons I Have A Japan Fetish

2. Cosplay, of course. And not just fat otaku cosplay that is so common in America. Quality cosplay.

4. Gothic and gothic lolita styles- yet another branch of the fashion scene of Japan. It lends an elegant, almost doll-like air to those who wear it.

For some reason, I have a great interest in Latin. It is a dying language, true. And as an aspiring fashion designer one would presume that I would want to learn something more useful, like French. Yet I find a great beauty in this language, and French is of no interest to me. Perhaps I will learn Latin in high school. What do you think?

First Fashion Post!

That's right! I'm finally gonna post something about clothes. I'm inspired after reading the Teen Vogue article that made me do a blog in the first place. I just wish someone would read the damn thing! Oh well.

Outfit details: purple and black leopard print w/ cat design (it's hard to tell) tank top and light gray skinny jeans

The tank top I found at Walmart and the jeans are from TJ Maxx. It's funny because I tried on a lot of Cheap Monday's and other brands at TJ Maxx but couldn't find any I liked and then I found these. TJ Maxx is great about selling $60 jeans for $7 on clearance (the ones here were $7) but the tag just has some silver and black stars on it and no indication of a brand name at all. So I don't know what the skinnies are, but it's weird because since buying them, months later I've seen a lot of people wearing them.....this happens a lot.......maybe I've got a premonition to buy clothes right before they become a trend?

Is it totally screwed up if I think this guy is hot?

I just bought Dive Into The Sun, an Alice Nine photo book. It was only $15 at a used bookstore, fair condition, and came with a cd that had a song only released with the book (not on any of their albums)!!!! It's awesome! Pics coming soon. BUT....
Now I want more!!! There was another one, their other photo book (Shiny Summer X'mas 2007) but I'll have to buy it later. But now I want a Naitomea (Nightmare) photo book and a GazettE photo book!!! If anyone knows where I can buy
Majestical Parade or The World Ruler photo books by Naitomea w/cd/dvd thing
and/or

I just noticed the something about the Blink-182 smiley face logo. On hottopic.com, some of the blink-182 products have the logo with 6 arrows on the outer circle, and some products have 5 arrows. Why is that? Does the actual copyrighted original symbol have 5 or 6 arrows? And are the product manufacturers going to do anything about this to fix it?

Finally, finally, someone gets it. The true definition of someone who is emo, as posted by rose m. on urbandictionary.com.

COOL EMO KID: doesnt care what ppl think, likes a good band whether they are on mtv or not, and won't stop listening to some band just cuz everyone suddenly 'discovered' them. they do nothing to make ppl feel bad for them, and want no ones sympathy. they give everything a chance before deeming it cool or uncool. and if they want to kill themselves, they do it. they dont shop regularly at hot topic, but dont' completely disregard it. if there's something they want to buy, they go for it, and dont deny they bought it there. most of what they wear is from hand me downs, a garbage, a thrift shop, or was found. they dress how they want, and never deliberately try to piss ppl off or 'rebel'. if they do something rebellious, it is not just to be rebellious, it is because they want to/believe in doing it. they respect people who dont want to put drugs in their body, but some COOL EMO KIDS do drugs because they feel like it

ANNOYING EMO KID: those kids who regularly max out daddy's credit card at hot topic and tell everyone how depressed they are and that they cut their arms up every night wanting to die (ok...where are the scars?). they only listen to 'underground' bands adn immediately stop when someone they think is popular or preppy starts to listen to them, or they see them on mtv (which they claim never to watch, but they still do). they intentionally do stupid and rebellious things trying to make authority figures mad, thinking it's cool. these people are attention-craving, tasteless, abnoxious emo kids. anything popular is completely disregarded to them. they also tell ppl that they think drugs are sooooooooooo cool, but are scared to do them, but do them anyway because they think it'll make them cool

COOL EMO KID: that guy wearing some vintage tight tee and dirtied up black chuck taylors who is genuinely sincere and tells everyone what he thinks (tho never rudely unless he is already pissed at them)

ANNOYING EMO KID: the guy who draws on a bruise to make ppl think his dad hits him and who only talks to other ANNOYING EMO KIDS

I just got finished with Episode 12 of Loveless.

Nooooooo!!!!!!

I think I'm gonna cry, it was so sad. I can't believe it's over. I mean, I really want to see more, but there just isn't much left in the story line that could be turned into a second season, you know? They kinda tied up the loose ends, which I guess is a good thing but...

I don't know, maybe I'm just dissapointed because I wanted to see Ritsuka lose his ears to Soubi like they hinted at in Episode 1. Or at least one last SoubixRitsuka kiss!!! Come on!!!!

This is just like when I finished watching Karin or Papa To Kiss In The Dark, or finished reading the Hana Kimi series or the Harry Potter series or the Twilight saga. I become so attached to the characters, then I get all sad when it ends, and two weeks later I've moved on to something else that will eventually make me depressed.

It's a vicious cycle.

And such is my life.

I guess I'll have to go read the manga now.

Jeffree Star. Yeah, don't judge me. I like how he looks. He's different, but beautiful (like Chris Crocker!). I believe beauty is not limited to a certain gender expectation. Funny thing is, I usually hate pink. But it suits him well. He just doesn't look good as a guy- I've googled it. *shudders* I also enjoy his music- I'm into alternative rock, techno, and other weird stuff in general. So I like his songs. Basically, I respect and admire him for really defying the social norm and not giving a damn- not like those people who claim to not conform and secretly cry and wish everyone liked them, while dressing like millions of other sad posers. (p.s. this picture is awesome. like, hell yeah I've got a cupcake, whatcha gonna do about it? this cupcake will cut you)

The "Scene" Look

Ok, I'm going to tackle one stereotypical "look" at a time. First up:
The "Scene" look. I'm not talking about the music, or posers, or stupid myspace addicts, or anything like that. Strictly addressing what the "Scene" look itself entails.

This is a drawing I found depicting typical "scene kids" or "scenesters". Some of the fashions shown here are a usual factor of the scene style, such as: Fauxhawks (I used to have one), piercings (lip or nose, not just ears), tattoos, thick-rimmed glasses (I have them), band t-shirts, crazy colors in hair, bangs over your face (I have them too lol), anything from The Nightmare Before Christmas (which I love), spiked hair, and anything purple. Note that many of the aforesaid characteristics are also part of the "Emo" look.

Here we have a picture of some people dressed in the scene look. Note that they also like knee-highs, tutus, fishnets, and backcombed hair.

Their hair usually has one bow or more in it, or sometimes hairclips instead.

Their hair is usually backcombed/teased up on top, straightironed on the bottom, and the main color tends to be platinum blond or black with brightly colored streaks or platinum streaks- note that the streaks can be striped. Occasionally their hair will be short and spiked/fauxhawked or in a shorter version of the hair described above. Some people choose to dye their hair entirely blue, purple, cherry red, orange, or pink ala reigning Scene Queen Jeffree Star.

This, of course, only covers scene girls (or scene drag queens). Scene guys (in a short summary) wear girls jeans (or really tight ones at least), band shirts, and have short razored hair in black or platinum w/ streaks of color, spiked or hanging over one eye. Oh, and I almost forgot- thick black eyeliner and/or neon eyeshadow on both genders. And there you have it. One can admire the scene style without adopting the fake attitude.
